apples of gold in settings of silver

I'm back to doing my proverb of the day. Anyway, today's the 21st of July, so the proverb will come from Proverbs 21. The proverb(s) for today are:

 

"Human plans, no matter how wise or well advised, cannot stand against the Lord.

The horses are prepared for battle, but the victory belongs to the Lord."

- Proverbs 21:30,31 (NLT)

 

Yup, this is to do with plans for the upcoming Youth Alive... I find these proverbs both chastising and reassuring.. firstly, though we may be proud of our own well-thought plans, we are human and finite, and we should never be too proud not to open our eyes to something better God may have for us. Secondly, it is reassuring, cos while we do have the responsibility to make good plans and preparations, sometimes our plan falls short, and that's when God demonstrates his power. Heh. Power!
